Mark offers
1, 2, or 3-day parish missions, depending on his tour schedule.
WHAT
TO EXPECT:
Faithful to the teachings & Magisterium
of the Catholic Church, Mark's passion for the Faith and the
Sacraments is contagious as he shares both practical spiritual
principles, insights from his own journey, along with faith-building
music. His music has a high appeal to the whole family, but the
nature and content of the spoken message is most appropriate
for ages 13 & up, depending on level of maturity (CLICK
HERE
if you want to listen to Mark's "Banquet of Mercy"
message, given recently while on tour).
Each night goes
for just under 2 hours and the remuneration arrangement is as
follows...
Mark relies
primarily on God's Providence to support his full-time ministry
and family through donations and stipends. If possible, we ask
that the amount of a $500 stipend for direct travel expenses
be covered by the parish. Additionally, we also ask that the
parish take up a free will offering the evening of the event
to help cover the financial needs for Mark's family.
In the
U.S.,
in order for Mark to receive travel remuneration and donations
and freely sell his music, he is required to obtain a P-2 Worker's
Visa at a cost of $400 which involves a 4 month processing time.
All arrangements and required paperwork for U.S. parish missions
would need to be completed prior to this 4 month window. If a
booking is more short-notice, an expedited Visa is required,
which costs $1,400 and takes a minimum 1 month window to process.
The expense for the P-2 Visa in either scenario would need to
be re-imbursed by the hosting parish if this is an isolated booking,
or will be split between parishes on a multi-parish tour.
Please note: Due to the complexity
of obtaining a P-2 Visa, Mark is taking limited U.S. bookings
at this point. If he is able to work the parish mission into
a road tour, this is preferred. However, if your invitation does
not line up with a road tour and time permits, he will consider
flying to you.
SUGGESTED
MISSION TALKS:
|
Night
1: "A World in Crisis: Hour of
Mercy"
Often
referring to this as the "Cold Shower Talk", Mark gets
right to the heart of the matter with addressing the signs of
the times. Referring to Scripture, the Holy Fathers, Saints,
and the Catholic Catechism, this talk is a confirmation for what
many faithful have already been sensing in their own hearts...
for others, it is a serious wake-up call... which ultimately
leads to our entire dependance on Christ's limitless Mercy.
Night
2:
"Watch!"
Solid,
practical, and orthodox... a powerful talk centered on the call
to personal repentance--to "watch" the state of our
souls, trusting in the Mercy of God, and renewing a commitment
to the Sacrament of Penance.
Night
3:
"Pray!"
Come
away inspired and equipped to deepen your faith and enrich your
prayer life--a vital foundation of the Christian journey. Mark
explains the central role of prayer for the Christian, and more
importantly, inspires a thirst for union with God--whether one
is 8, or 88 years old.
Note: In a 2-day mission, Talks 2 & 3 would
be combined to be titled"Watch & Pray!"
In a 1-day mission,
the evening would simply be titled "A World in Crisis: Hour of
Mercy"
|
Other talk
themes Mark has done in the past (much of the content crossing
over into the above 3 parish mission talks)...
"Breaking
the Chains"
Overcoming
our weaknesses through the way of the Saints, interspersed with
Mark's personal testimony. "The Two Pillars of John Paul
II"
Mark
looks at the two concurrent years proclaimed by Pope John Paul
II: The Year of the Eucharist and the Year of the Rosary, and
why they are prophetic words for our times. Is the salvation
of North America--if not the world--now hinged on our response
to these? How do we continue to live out these two years? Remain in Me: How
to Remain in Jesus"
Putting
knowledge into action; how to stay on the vine. Ending with an
hour of Adoration with music led by Mark where Jesus moves powerfully
in people's hearts. This is often the most powerful hour of the
mission...
We like to give at least 4 week's lead
time to get the word out. Once we receive the priest's blessing
to proceed, a customized promotional kit (complete with full
color posters, bulletin inserts/handouts, and a pre-written church
announcement) would be sent to you so your parishioners have
plenty of time to plan for this special event. (NOTE: If
your parish is able to offer childcare during the event, you
will have more success in drawing the young families out.) Beverages
and snacks afterwards are also a nice way to draw the parish
together and build true community.
