BOTH terror and exultant victory. That was the vision of the prophet Daniel of a future time when a “great beast” would arise over the whole world, a beast “quite different” than previous beasts who imposed their rule. He said it “shall devour the whole earth, beat it down, and crush it” through “ten kings.” It will overturn the law and even alter the calendar.
