Sins Which Cry Out To Heaven

FROM the Daily Roman Missal:

The catechetical tradition recalls that there are sins that cry to heaven’: the blood of Abel; the sin of the Sodomites; ignoring the cry of the people oppressed in Egypt and that of the foreigner, the widow, and the orphan; injustice to the wage earner."Sixth Edition, Midwest Theological Forum Inc., 2004, p. 2165

INTENSIFICATION

There has been an intensification over the summer, in my heart and in the heart of others whom have I met along my journeys of something impending—what exactly, we do not know. Once again, I feel the Lord urging me to say,

Remain in a state of grace.

That is, if you have committed a mortal sin, then turn back to God, go to Confession, and trust in His love and mercy for you. But do not delay any longer.

I have received emails during the past week which indicate that this intensity is coming from Heaven itself. A couple whom I am acquainted with in the USA, who have a statue of Our Lady of Fatima in their home, have written me to say that Mary has been crying ‘copious’ tears which have the strong ‘scent of roses.’ They have never seen her weep this much.

And a recent alleged apparition to one of the seers of Medjugorje reports that the visionary suddenly became visibly distressed. After the apparition, she reported that Mary showed her what would happen to the world if it continued on this path of sinfulness… sinfulness which cries out to heaven. "It is not nice," she reportedly said. (Several websites have recently stated that the priest who was chosen by the seer Mirjana to reveal the alleged secrets of Medjugorje, which portend great changes in the world, believes these secrets will be revealed ‘very soon.’)

And of course, we are now seeing on a weekly basis dramatic events occurring in nature which are repeatedly breaking records. But are these warnings breaking hardened hearts? The unrepented and grave sins of this world have collected in the heavens like thick hailstones. How much longer can justice hold their weight?

And yet… I hear the merciful Lord saying to us this day,

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chron 7:13-14)
