ACCORDING to Our Lady, there is a “blessing” coming upon the Church, the “Flame of Love” of her Immaculate Heart, according to the approved revelations of Elizabeth Kindelmann (read The Convergence and the Blessing). I want to continue to unfold in the days ahead the significance of this grace in Scripture, prophetic revelations, and the teaching of the Magisterium.
CONFIRMATIONS OF THE FLAME…
In The Convergence and the Blessing, I quoted from the alleged apparitions of Medjugorje (see On Medjugorje, written for the skeptics and those who “quench the Spirit”) where Our Lady speaks of a coming “blessing.” It was actually a few days later that a reader wrote to inform me that, at the beginning of these apparitions, Our Lady had given the seers a prayer of consecration, a prayer for this Flame:
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
overflowing with goodness,
show us Your love for us.
May the flame of Your heart,
O Mary, descend upon all mankind…
and thus be converted through
the flame of Your Heart. Amen.
—cf. medjugorje.com
This little talked about prayer is significant because it really states the vision, reason, and goal for one of the most famous apparition sites in modern times.
The saint, who one could say gave us “consecration to Mary,” is St. Louis de Montfort. (The Apostle St. John was consecrated to Mary beneath the Cross, and as such, so was the whole Church. But St. Louis de Montfort developed the theology of this consecration, and how the motherhood of Mary leads us most directly to a deep and authentic relationship with her Son, Jesus Christ.) St. Louis speaks of the “reign” of the Holy Spirit:
When will it happen, this fiery deluge of pure love with which you are to set the whole world ablaze and which is to come, so gently yet so forcefully, that all nations…. will be caught up in its flames and be converted?… When you breathe your Spirit into them, they are restored and the face of the earth is renewed. Send this all-consuming Spirit upon the earth to create priests who burn with this same fire and whose ministry will renew the face of the earth and reform your Church. —From God Alone: The Collected Writings of St. Louis Marie de Montfort; April 2014, Magnificat, p. 331
Another voice in the wilderness whom I have quoted here before is “Pelianito,” a very prayerful and humble soul I know personally who, through meditation on the Scriptures, listens to the voice of the Shepherd. Her writings are consistent with ecclesially approved prophecy all over the world. On April 13th, 2014, she posted a reflection which calls us to pray for a “blessing”, which is part of an “awakening” of the world:
My children, through your prayers and sacrifices I will work a great work. I mean for you to participate actively in the awakening that is to come to the world. Do not be remiss, but take up your cross daily and follow me. Quench my thirst. My thoughts on Calvary were fixed on the souls I died to save. Then bring me more souls—expand your territory of souls. Call down my blessing on all those I have given you to pray for. Be a blessing to the world. —pelianito.stblogs.com
The heavenly manifestations to Edson Glauber of Brazil received an endorsement from his Bishop. In a message given to the Church in Slovenia—echoing the approved messages to Elizabeth Kindelmann—Our Lady speaks of the Flame of Love already beginning to spread.
Families who entrust themselves to our Hearts will be a beacon of light to so many other families in need of God’s love and grace. Satan’s kingdom of darkness has been shaken in Slovenia with the flame of love of our three united Sacred Hearts. May this flame increasingly spread in many families, and God will have mercy on Slovenia and fill her with the grace of his Divine Spirit. —January 5, 2016, Brezje, Slovenia
THE ONE VOICE: MARY & THE CHURCH
It is my conviction that, when we speak of authentic Marian messages, what we are hearing are echoes of what is already being said and taught in the Church. That is, authentic apparitions, locutions, etc. will be in harmony with the prophetic voice of the Magisterium (though I am by no means making any definitive pronouncement regarding the above) as Mary is theologically a “type” and “mirror” of the Church. I believe that is the secondary purpose of this website and my book: to essentially take what has traditionally been the domain of “private revelation,” and demonstrate how it is actually “heard” in the Magisterial voice by providing passages from Church documents, Scriptures, the Catechism, Church Fathers, and popes. As Benedict XVI said:
Holy Mary… you became the image of the Church to come… —Encyclical, Spe Salvi, n.50
And thus,
When either is spoken of, the meaning can be understood of both, almost without qualification. —Blessed Isaac of Stella, Liturgy of the Hours, Vol. I, pg. 252
The Flame of Love can also be understood as the descent of Jesus through the Holy Spirit, theologically understood as the “pneumatic” coming of Christ (see The Middle Coming). So, once again, we hear the popes also anticipating a new descent of grace, but speaking of it in terms of the Spirit:
May [Mary] continue to strengthen our prayers with her suffrages, that, in the midst of all the stress and trouble of the nations, those divine prodigies may be happily revived by the Holy Ghost, which were foretold in the words of David: “Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created, and Thou shalt renew the face of the earth” (Ps. ciii., 30). —POPE LEO XIII, Divinum Illud Munus, n. 14
On May 3rd, 1920, the Holy Pontiff prayed:
We humbly implore the Holy Ghost, the Paraclete, that He may “graciously grant to the Church the gifts of unity and peace,” and may renew the face of the earth by a fresh outpouring of His charity for the salvation of all. —POPE BENEDICT XV, Pacem Dei Munus Pulcherrimum
St. John XXIII continued that holy sentiment as he convened a new council, praying:
Renew Your wonders in this our day, as by a new Pentecost. Grant to Your Church that, being of one mind and steadfast in prayer with Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and following the lead of blessed Peter, it may advance the reign of our Divine Savior, the reign of truth and justice, the reign of love and peace. Amen. —POPE JOHN XXIII at the opening of the Second Vatican Council
Echoing several prophecies, Paul VI wrote:
…so great are the needs and the perils of the present age, so vast the horizon of mankind drawn towards world coexistence and powerless to achieve it, that there is no salvation for it except in a new outpouring of the gift of God. Let Him then come, the Creating Spirit, to renew the face of the earth! —POPE PAUL VI, Gaudete in Domino, May 9th, 1975
www.vatican.va
And who can forget the famous prophecy of St. John Paul II?
…[a] new springtime of Christian life will be revealed by the Great Jubilee if Christians are docile to the action of the Holy Spirit… —POPE JOHN PAUL II, Tertio Millennio Adveniente, n. 18
As noted in my previous writing, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI also prayed for a “new Pentecost” in 2008 in New York. [1]cf. The Day of Difference But he understood, as have all the popes, that the coming of the Holy Spirit is a Marian gift, in that she has been preparing souls for this grace that will bring the Church into a triumphant era of peace: [2]cf. Dear Holy Father… He is Coming!
The Holy Spirit, finding his dear Spouse present again in souls, will come down into them with great power. He will fill them with his gifts, especially wisdom, by which they will produce wonders of grace… that age of Mary, when many souls, chosen by Mary and given her by the most High God, will hide themselves completely in the depths of her soul, becoming living copies of her, loving and glorifying Jesus. —St. Louis de Montfort, True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin, n.217, Montfort Publications
And so, here we have a remarkable polyphony of prophecies spanning several centuries, all pointing to one thing: a coming grace to be poured upon the Church that will renew the face of the earth. As we look at the “signs of the times” all around us, the main question again is, are you preparing for it? [3]cf. Five Smooth Stones, and The Great Gift
Few are, but that is even more reason why Mary is the New Gideon…
