RUSSIA remains one of the most mysterious countries in both historical and current affairs. It is “ground zero” for several seismic events in both history and prophecy.
For instance, Freemasons considered Russia to be the best candidate to experiment with a synthesis of Enlightenment philosophies:

Thus, said Pius XI:
Russia [was considered] the best-prepared field for experimenting with a plan elaborated decades ago, and who from there continue to spread it from one end of the world to the other. —POPE PIUS XI, Divini Redemptoris, n. 24; www.vatican.va
So dangerous were the sophistries of practical atheism, materialism, evolutionism, rationalism, Marxism, etc. that eight popes in seventeen official documents condemned speculative Freemasonry, with over two hundred papal condemnations issued by the Church either formally or informally in less than three hundred years.[2]Stephen, Mahowald, She Shall Crush Thy Head, MMR Publishing Company, p. 73 And not only the Magisterium, but Heaven itself intervened in spectacular fashion with apocalyptic messages to warn of Russia’s philosophic errors:
God… is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world. —Message of Fatima, vatican.va
Clearly, the errors of Russia have spread throughout the entire world as the West, in particular, has not only abandoned its Christian roots but has begun to wholly embrace and spread neo-Communistic ideals under the guise of “green politics”, environmentalism, and “public health care.” Jackboots have been replaced with “health mandates”; paper passports are being replaced with digital ID’s; and the robbery of personal property edges ever closer as governments increasingly force their population to reduce their “carbon footprint” for “the common good.” Very clever, but very obvious to the student of Communism. Russia: A Pivotal Moment?
As you read above, Our Lady’s triumph would hinge upon the conversion of Russia, particularly through its Consecration to her Immaculate Heart through the decisive intervention of the Holy Father. There were several attempts made throughout the decades but never quite according to Our Lady’s requests, according to intense debate among theologians. [4]cf. Did the Consecration of Russia Happen? Then, in March 25th, 2022, Pope
Francis, in union with the bishops of the world, made this Consecration:
Therefore, Mother of God and our Mother, to your Immaculate Heart we solemnly entrust and consecrate ourselves, the Church and all humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine.—countdowntothekingdom.com
So, is Russia in a process of conversion? Many would argue yes, even since the “imperfect consecration” of St. John Paul II some 38 years previous. But clearly, this is an unfinished process particularly as Russia has become an instrument of war, not peace.
An instrument, perhaps, of chastisement…
Putin: An Indictment
Again, the great irony is that Russia appears to be aligned now against the forces that are replicating the very errors her Communism had spread throughout the world. In a recent speech, Russian President Vladimir Putin has essentially declared war on globalism. But before we get into his address, a few caveats… While I wholeheartedly agree with many things Putin says in this speech, I am in no way canonizing the man nor applauding his actions. Simply put, we are in a time of chastisement; the world is beginning to reap the whirlwind it has sown.[5]Hosea 8:7: “When they sow the wind, they will reap the whirlwind.” And just as God used imperfect and pagan vessels to purify Israel, so too, it appears so again. Here, we speak of the permissive will of God; for His active will is that mankind would simply return to Him without the necessity of chastisement.

What you are about to read is an indictment of the West, and in particular, America. It is an indictment albeit by an imperfect man. Recall the story of King David when Shimei appeared, cursing him…
…he threw stones at David and at all the servants of King David, and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left. And Shimei said as he cursed, “Get out, get out, you man of blood, you worthless man! The LORD has avenged on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned, and the LORD has given the kingdom into the hand of your son Absalom. See, your evil is on you, for you are a man of blood.”
When David’s servant offered to lop off Shimei’s head, David replied:
“Leave him alone, and let him curse, for the LORD has told him to…” Shimei went along on the hillside opposite him and cursed as he went and threw stones at him and flung dust. (cf. 2 Samuel 16:5-13)

The Speech
After providing the reasoning as to why Russia is annexing several regions of modern-day Ukraine and delving into a bit of the historical divide between the USSR and the West, Putin then turns his sites on “Western elites”:
The West is ready to step over everything in order to preserve the neo-colonial system that allows it to parasitize, in fact, to plunder the world at the expense of the power of the dollar and technological dictates, to collect real tribute from humanity, to extract the main source of unearned prosperity, the rent [ie. tax] of the hegemon. The maintenance of this rent is their key, genuine and absolutely self-serving motive. That is why total desovereignization is in their interests. Hence their aggression towards independent states, towards traditional values and original cultures, attempts to undermine international and integration processes beyond their control, new world currencies and centers of technological development. It is critical for them that all countries surrender their sovereignty to the United States. —President Vladimir Putin, September 30th, 2022; miragenews.com; video here
Surprisingly, Putin’s condemnation is really a confirmation of the Masonic intentions for America from the very first moments of its founding: 
Unless you understand the influence of the occult [ie. Masonic, Illuminati] societies and the development of America, on the establishment of America, on the course of America, why, you get completely lost studying our history… America would be used to lead the world into the philosophic empire. You understand that America was founded by Christians as a Christian nation. Who are these people who are “abusing” America’s military and financial power? It has long been known that the world’s wealthiest banking families, who are part of these “secret societies”, have been pulling the strings of war and finance for centuries. Of them, Benedict XVI warned:
We think of the great powers of the present day, of the anonymous financial interests which turn men into slaves, which are no longer human things, but are an anonymous power which men serve, by which men are tormented and even slaughtered. They [i.e., anonymous financial interests] are a destructive power, a power that menaces the world. —POPE BENEDICT XVI, Reflection after the reading of the office for the Third Hour this morning in the Synod Aula, Vatican City, October 11, 2010
Putin then addresses the manipulation of sovereign rulers by these powers:
The ruling elites of some states voluntarily agree to do this, voluntarily agree to become vassals; others are bribed, intimidated. And if it doesn’t work out, they destroy entire states, leaving behind humanitarian catastrophes, disasters, ruins, millions of ruined, mangled human destinies, terrorist enclaves, social disaster zones, protectorates, colonies and semi-colonies. They don’t care as long as they get their own benefit.
It is well known that aid offered to third-world countries is often contingent upon them adopting Western progressive ideology, such as birth control, abortion, etc. (under the euphemisms of “family planning” and “reproductive health”). Consider also the recent disastrous withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan, which emboldened the Taliban leaving them with even more power.[6]cf. here, here, and here Then you have the war in Iraq that left hundreds of thousands dead based on controversial claims of 
“weapons of mass destruction”, [7]cf. To My American Friends and ultimately spawned terrorist organizations.

The withdrawal of the American-led coalition created tremendous instability and frequent violent power-struggles between Muslim sects, which has led, in part, to the current refugee crisis and destabilization of Europe.[8]cf. Putin continues…
I want to emphasize once again: it is precisely in greed, in the intention to maintain its unlimited power, that there are the real reasons for the hybrid war that the “collective West” is waging against Russia. They do not wish us freedom, but they want to see us as a colony. They do not want equal cooperation, but robbery. They want to see us not as a free society, but as a crowd of soul-less slaves… It is with their destructive policy, wars, and robbery that they provoked today’s colossal surge in migration flows. Millions of people suffer deprivation, abuse, die by the thousands, trying to get to the same Europe.
Let’s pause on that word “robbery”.
Long before this speech, we were warned by Our Lady that “Communism will return.” [9]see When Communism Returns As she stated in Fatima, without conversion, the spread of “Russia’s errors” would lead to global Communism. This neo-Communism emerging today is based on the same underlying Marxist philosophies — only with a Green hat. In that regard, we most certainly see how the so-called “Great Reset” is being used to commandeer what amounts to a robbery of the nations through the false narrative of man-made “global warming” (think “carbon taxes”). As an official on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) quite candidly admitted:
…one has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth… —Ottmar Edenhofer, dailysignal.com, November 19th, 2011
The former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Christine Figueres, stated:
This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years—since the industrial revolution. —November 30th, 2015; unric.org
In 1988, former Canadian Minister of the Environment, Christine Stewart, told the Calgary Herald: “No matter if the science of global warming is all phony… climate change [provides] the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world.”[10]quoted by Terence Corcoran, “Global Warming: The Real Agenda,” Financial Post, December 26th, 1998; from the Calgary Herald, December, 14, 1998 As such, Dr. Patrick Moore, Ph.D., co-founder of Greenpeace, who abandoned the environmental movement when it began to go off the rails, stated bluntly:
…the Left sees climate change as a perfect means to redistribute wealth from industrial countries to the developing world and the UN bureaucracy. —Dr. Patrick Moore, P.h.d., co-founder of Greenpeace; “Why I am a Climate Change Skeptic”, March 20th, 2015; hearttland.org
In other words, we are beginning to see the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy that is ultimately the action of the Antichrist:
Woe to Assyria! My rod in anger, my staff in wrath. Against an impious nation I send him, and against a people under my wrath I order him to seize plunder, carry off loot, and tread them down like the mud of the streets. But this is not what he intends, nor does he have this in mind; Rather, it is in his heart to destroy, to make an end of nations not a few. For he says: “By my own power I have done it, and by my wisdom, for I am shrewd. I have moved the boundaries of peoples, their treasures I have pillaged, and, like a giant, I have put down the enthroned. My hand has seized like a nest the riches of nations; as one takes eggs left alone, so I took in all the earth; no one fluttered a wing, or opened a mouth, or chirped!” (Isaiah 10:5-14)
It is what Church Father Lactantius called “one common robbery.” And note his description of the societal state when all this takes place…
That will be the time in which righteousness shall be cast out, and innocence be hated; in which the wicked shall prey upon the good as enemies; neither law, nor order, nor military discipline shall be preserved… all things shall be confounded and mixed together against right, and against the laws of nature. Thus the earth shall be laid waste, as though by one common robbery. When these things shall so happen, then the righteous and the followers of truth shall separate themselves from the wicked, and flee into solitudes. —Lactantius, Church Father, The Divine Institutes, Book VII, Ch. 17
Woe to those who plan iniquity, and work out evil on their couches; in the morning light [ie. “broad daylight”] they accomplish it when it lies within their power. They covet fields, and seize them; houses, and they take them; they cheat an owner of his house, a man of his inheritance… (Micah 2:1-2)
Employing “climate change” as a pretext in accord with the UN’s Agenda 2030,[11]cf. bloomberg.com Canadian and Danish authorities are now threatening to reduce nitrogen (fertilizer).[12]cf. Canada: here and here; Netherlands: here In the Netherlands, this will potentially shutter over 11,000 farms[13]petersweden.substack.com while the Danish government threatens to forcibly “buy out” hundreds of generational farmlands. This is precisely the carefully crafted plan of the UN’s partner, the World Economic Forum (WEF). This land grab is what is called “rewilding” — turning the land back into “wild” reserves.
Letting trees grow back naturally could be the key to restoring the world’s forests. Natural regeneration — or ‘rewilding’ — is an approach to conservation… It means stepping back to let nature take over and let the damaged ecosystems and landscapes restore by themselves… It can mean getting rid of manmade structures and restoring native species that are in decline. In her 1921 book exposing the plot for a Communist “world revolution,” author Nesta H. Webster tackled the underlying root philosophy of the secret societies of Freemasonry and Illuminatism
who are driving today’s present upheaval. It is the notion that “Civilization is all wrong” and that salvation for the human race lies in a “return to nature.” But farmers are warning that these irrational government interventions, particularly tilling the crops under to “let the soil rest”,[14]“Denmark decries EU decision to till fallow lands in face of food shortage”; courthousenews.com will push the world deeper into an already worsening food crisis.[15]“‘Knocking on famine’s door’: UN food chief wants action now”; nationalpost.com
Back to Putin’s speech… he then targets presumably the “George Soros’s” of the world who seek to undermine national sovereignty, or as Isaiah warned, move “the boundaries of peoples.”
Western elites deny not only national sovereignty and international law. Their hegemony has a pronounced character of totalitarianism, despotism and apartheid.
We have witnessed this, not only in the celebration of the burgeoning Marxist revolution in the United States under classic identity politics in the form of “Black Lives Matter”, “white privilege”, gender ideology, renunciation of its flag, etc. but also through the heavy-handed authoritarianism imposed by several Western leaders through reckless lockdowns and other so-called “health” mandates. “They discriminate, divide peoples into the first and other grades,” asserts Putin:
Even the repentance for their own historical crimes is being shifted by the Western elites to everyone else, demanding both the citizens of their countries and other peoples to confess for what they have nothing to do with at all… [eg. apologizing for one’s “whiteness”]
Putin then shifts to the present manufactured crises through destructive energy, agricultural and financial policies that, he believes, is bringing about the collapse of the entire system, and ultimately, forcing the hand of war.
There is every reason to believe that the Western elites are not going to look for constructive ways out of the global food and energy crisis, which arose through their fault, precisely through their fault… they will try to completely bring the system to a collapse, on which everything can be blamed, or, God forbid, they will decide to use the well-known formula “the war will write everything off”.
There is more to this insight than meets the eye. I have written extensively about this coming “collapse”, which I believe we also read in Revelation 17 — how the harlot (America?) is being used by this global “beast” until her purpose has been fulfilled. [16]see The Coming Collapse of America and The Fall of Mystery Babylon In that light, St. John gives a vivid description of Babylon that very much suits what we are witnessing in America and much of the West today: a complete descent into decadence.
Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great. She has become a haunt for demons. She is a cage for every unclean spirit, a cage for every unclean bird, [a cage for every unclean] and disgusting [beast]. For all the nations have drunk the wine of her licentious passion. The kings of the earth had intercourse with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her drive for luxury. (Rev 18:3)
As Putin rightly observes:
Now they have completely moved to a radical denial of moral norms, religion, and family.
He then asks his fellow citizens:
Do we want to have, here, in our country, in Russia, parent number one, number two, number three instead of mom and dad — have they gone made out there? Do we really want perversions that lead to degradation and extinction to be imposed on children in our schools from the primary grades? To be drummed into them that there are various supposed genders besides women and men, and to be offered a sex change operation? Do we want all this for our country and our children? For us, all this is unacceptable, we have a different future, our own future. I repeat, the dictatorship of the Western elites is directed against all societies, including the peoples of the Western countries themselves. This is a challenge for everyone. Such a complete denial of man, the overthrow of faith and traditional values, the suppression of freedom acquiring the features of a “reverse religion” — outright Satanism.
Indeed, this echoes Pope Benedict XVI who warned:
…an abstract religion is being made into a tyrannical standard that everyone must follow. —Light of the World, A Conversation with Peter Seewald, p. 52
In fact, this is nothing new from Putin, who said much the same thing nine years earlier in a similar condemnation of Western ideological colonization.
We see many of the Euro-Atlantic countries are actually rejecting their roots, including the Christian values that constitute the basis of Western civilisation. They are denying moral principles and all traditional identities: national, cultural, religious and even sexual. They are implementing
policies that equate large families with same-sex partnerships, belief in God with the belief in Satan… And people are aggressively trying to export this model all over the world. I am convinced that this opens a direct path to degradation and primitivism, resulting in a profound demographic and moral crisis. What else but the loss of the ability to self-reproduce could act as the greatest testimony of the moral crisis facing a human society? —President Vladimir Putin, speech to the final plenary meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club, Sept. 19th, 2013; en.kremlin.ru
Thus, declares Putin in his latest speech:
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus Christ, denouncing the false prophets, says: By their fruits you shall know them. And these poisonous fruits are already obvious to people — not only in our country, in all countries, including many people in the West itself… The collapse of Western hegemony that has begun is irreversible. And I repeat again: it will not be the same as before.
And so, one is left wondering: is Russia and/or her allies going to be the instrument of chastisement for the West? Several recent prophecies speak of the coming aggression of Russia. Whether they feel forced to act or whether it is nationalist ambition is the debate of the hour. The question is, will this aggression bring to fulfillment St. John’s vision of the fall of “Babylon”?
The Book of Revelation includes among the great sins of Babylon — the symbol of the world’s great irreligious cities — the fact that it trades with bodies and souls and treats them as commodities (cf. Rev 18:13)…. an eloquent expression of the tyranny of mammon which perverts mankind. No pleasure is ever enough, and the excess of deceiving intoxication becomes a violence that tears whole regions apart — and all this in the name of a fatal misunderstanding of freedom which actually undermines man’s freedom and ultimately destroys it. —POPE BENEDICT XVI, On the occasion of Christmas Greetings, December 20th, 2010; http://www.vatican.va/
Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Depart from her, my people, so as not to take part in her sins and receive a share in her plagues, for her sins are piled up to the sky, and God remembers her crimes. Pay her back as she has paid others. Pay her back double for her deeds… Therefore, her plagues will come in one day, pestilence, grief, and famine; she will be consumed by fire. For mighty is the Lord God who judges her.” The kings of the earth who had intercourse with her in their wantonness will weep and mourn over her when they see the smoke of her pyre. They will keep their distance for fear of the torment inflicted on her, and they will say: “Alas, alas, great city, Babylon, mighty city. In one hour your judgment has come.”
