Hatred of the brethren makes room next for Antichrist;
for the devil prepares beforehand the divisions among the people,
that he who is to come may be acceptable to them.
—St. Cyril of Jerusalem, Church Doctor, (c. 315-386)
Catechetical Lectures, Lecture XV, n.9
Seismic world events are unfolding at an incredible pace, even though in parts of the world, life seems “normal.” As I have said so many times, the closer we get to the Eye of the Storm, the faster the winds of change will blow, the more quickly events will follow one upon the other “like boxcars”, and the more rapidly chaos will ensue.
I have been sitting on this “now word” for several days, but felt earlier this week that it needed the preamble of The Judgment of the West and Russia – Instrument of Purification? These are admittedly heavy topics. So I appealed to Our Blessed Mother before writing this because she, more than anyone, has the most tender and loving heart of all God’s creatures… and yet she has had to speak some very challenging things to this wayward generation, often with tears. I am also prodded by the Scripture the Lord pressed upon my heart two decades ago when He called me to be a watchman through St. John Paul II:
If the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes, and takes any one of them; that man is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand. (Ezekiel 33:6)
The Agitators
The Agitators (see Part I and Part II) has been constantly on the back of my mind. It examined two of the most controversial figures in our times — Pope Francis and President Donald Trump (and here is not the time to discuss the real problems and concerns with either man, which I did in The Agitators) — and how they presently represent both the spiritual and political stop-gap of the total collapse of the West, or rather, what remains of the Roman Empire, that is, Christendom. What are they standing in the way of? What St. Paul called a revolt or apostasy — “the total repudiation of the Christian faith”[1]Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 2089 and the edifices of Western culture that Christianity has created as a fruit of the Gospel.
This revolt [apostasy], or falling off, is generally understood, by the ancient fathers, of a revolt from the Roman empire, which was first to be destroyed, before the coming of Antichrist. —St. John Henry Newman, footnote on 2 Thess 2:3, Douay-Rheims Holy Bible, Baronius Press Limited, 2003; p. 235
What we are witnessing today is a rejection of both Christianity and democratic principles at the exact same time. Cardinal Sarah stated it perfectly:
The spiritual crisis involves the entire world. But its source is in Europe. People in the West are guilty of rejecting God… The spiritual collapse thus has a very Western character… Because [Western man] refuses to acknowledge himself as an heir [of spiritual and cultural patrimony], man is condemned to the hell of liberal globalization in which individual interests confront one another without any law to govern them besides profit at any price. —Catholic Herald, April 5th, 2019
What is utterly fascinating is that this two-fold “restrainer” holding back this godless globalization is also hastening it at the same time. Pope Francis and Trump almost seem to be fine-tuned to disrupt the present order as we know it. They are agitating like sieves, causing a greater sifting of the weeds from the wheat. Just saying their names evokes the strongest reactions in people today, which is in itself a “sign of the times.” With Trump, his unorthodox style and provocations have exposed those with Marxist and globalist agendas; they have come out into the open, their cause no longer in the darkness. Likewise, Francis’ unorthodox and Jesuit style of creating a “mess” has exposed the “wolves in sheep’s clothing” eager to “update” Church teaching; they have come out into the open, their boldness growing. At the same time, both men seem to be drawing the Church and the world into a “final confrontation” with an antichrist agenda.[2]see The Agitators – Part II
What is at stake is the collapse of the Roman Empire (Christendom) as it hangs by a thread. It is the collapse of a moral consensus that until recently has always been enlightened by Christianity and the Gospel:
This fundamental consensus derived from the Christian heritage is at risk… In reality, this makes reason blind to what is essential. To resist this eclipse of reason and to preserve its capacity for seeing the essential, for seeing God and man, for seeing what is good and what is true, is the common interest that must unite all people of good will. The very future of the world is at stake. —POPE BENEDICT XVI, Address to the Roman Curia, December 20th, 2010; catholicherald.co.uk
Benedict saw the same conditions that collapsed the ancient Roman Empire’s reign repeating themselves in our times. That’s why “the future of the world is at risk” because, as many Church Fathers held, the collapse of Christendom would usher in the “beast… with ten horns and seven heads”[3]Rev 13:1 — the kingdom of Antichrist.
I do not grant that the Roman empire is gone. Far from it: the Roman empire remains even to this day… And as the horns, or kingdoms, still exist, as a matter of fact, consequently we have not yet seen the end of the Roman empire. —St. John Henry Newman (1801-1890), The Times of Antichrist, Sermon 1
The Beast That Hates
As Our Lady revealed to Servant of God Fr. Stefano Gobbi:
The seven heads indicate the various masonic lodges, which act everywhere in a subtle and dangerous way. This Black Beast has ten horns and, on the horns, ten crowns, which are signs of dominion and royalty. Masonry rules and governs throughout the whole world by means of the ten horns. —alleged message to Fr. Stefano, To the Priest, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, n. 405.d-e
As stated in Mystery Babylon, the Christian and Masonic roots of America make it a strong candidate for the “harlot” of Revelation 17. The Beast uses her to spread its harlotry — that is, both the philosophical errors of the Enlightenment (deism, Marxism, Communism, atheism, scientism, rationalism, relativism, modernism, individualism, etc.) as well as their corrupting fruits — a deceptive wine:
The kings of the earth have had intercourse with her, and the inhabitants of the earth became drunk on the wine of her harlotry. (Rev 17:1-2)
As the late Dr. Stanley Monteith noted:
America would be used to lead the world into the philosophic empire. You understand that America was founded by Christians as a Christian nation. However, there were always those people on the other side who wanted to use America, abuse our military power and our financial power, to establish enlightened democracies throughout the world and restore the lost Atlantis. —The New Atlantis: Secret Mysteries of America’s Beginnings (video); interview Dr. Stanley Monteith
Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen, in one of his early broadcasts, notes that Communism is actually a child of the West, of the “Enlightenment” that was spawned and fostered by the founders of modern Freemasonry:
There is not a single philosophical idea in Communism that did not come from the West. It’s philosophy came from Germany, its sociology from France, its economics from England. And what Russia gave it was an asiatic soul and power and face. — Communism in America, cf. youtube.com; “Russia [was considered] the best-prepared field for experimenting with a plan elaborated decades ago, and who from there continue to spread it from one end of the world to the other.” (POPE PIUS XI, Divini Redemptoris, n. 24; www.vatican.va)
Few realize that Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, and Karl Marx, who wrote the Communist Manifesto, were on the payroll of the Illuminati, which eventually combined with Masonry.[4]cf. “She Shall Crush Thy Head” by Stephen Mahowald, p. 100; 123
But now, the long and bloody experiment that took place on Russian soil (and expanded to various other countries) has exposed both its “successes” and failures. It is now time for a “Great Reset” so that The Spectre of Global Communism may spread to the ends of the earth. All that stands in the way is Catholicism and the (primarily) Western edifice she birthed.[5]Though, this may be precisely why the Consecration of Russia, and the eventual reintegration of Eastern Christianity, may lend to the salvation of the Church — the “triumph of the Immaculate Heart”: “God… is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.” —Message of Fatima, vatican.va
As such, the Church and arguably the last military bastion of Western Christianity, America, are standing in the way:
You are aware indeed, that the goal of this most iniquitous plot is to drive people to overthrow the entire order of human affairs and to draw them over to the wicked theories of this Socialism and Communism… —POPE PIUS IX, Nostis et Nobiscum, Encyclical, n. 18, DECEMBER 8, 1849
…namely, the utter overthrow of that whole religious and political order of the world which the Christian teaching has produced, and the substitution of a new state of things in accordance with their ideas, of which the foundations and laws shall be drawn from mere naturalism. —POPE LEO XIII, Humanum Genus, Encyclical on Freemasonry, n.10, April 20th, 1884))
Which may be precisely why we read in St. John’s Revelation:
I saw a woman seated on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names, with seven heads and ten horns… The ten horns that you saw and the beast will hate the harlot; they will leave her desolate and naked; they will eat her flesh and consume her with fire. (Rev 17:3, 16)
The “people on the other side”, as Dr. Monteith calls them — ie. Masonry — “hate” the harlot. Did you know that the globalist think tank, The Club of Rome, allegedly drew up a map in 1974 of a New World Order, dissolving national boundaries as we know them and creating ten new global regions?
If so, this explains why the Beast “hates” borders and pushes mass migration and Hijrah — Islamic migration;[6]“…the concept of Hijrah—Immigration—as a means of supplanting the native population and reaching the position of power became a well-developed doctrine in Islam… The main principle for a Muslim community in a non-Muslim country is that it must be separate and distinct. Already in the Charter of Medina, Muhammad outlined the basic rule for Muslims who emigrate to non-Muslim land, i.e., they must form a separate body, keeping their own laws and making the host country comply with them.” — “The Goal of Muslim Immigration According to Muhammad’s Teachings”, Oct. 2nd, 2014; chersonandmolschky.com; cf. The Crisis of the Refugee Crisis why the Beast hates patriotism and nationalism; why the Beast hates diversity and differences, and seeks to make all things “equal” and “uniform”; why the Beast hates freedom of religion and speech; why the Beast hates, above all, Christianity, which orders the nations according to the Gospel and charity, rather than naturalism and Communism; and why the Beast hates Jesus Christ, who is the Author and Source of the truth that transformed Western civilization and many parts of the globe.
Hence, the Beast has simultaneously used the West like a harlot, despite her Christian roots, for the purposes of “ideological colonization” whilst corrupting her with its errors in order to ultimately destroy the foundations of Christianity (see The Fall of Mystery Babylon).
If foundations are destroyed, what can the just one do? (Psalms 11:3 )
The Fall of Mystery Babylon
Now two things are unfolding at once: the rapid decline of Pope Francis’ health and the explosive pushback against globalism by President Trump. The death of Francis could very well bring about an even more progressive pope,[7]or even an anti-pope, were there to be an invalid election given that he appointed 110 of the 138 cardinals eligible to vote in the next papal conclave.
As for Trump, no matter what one thinks of him, his swift assault to dismantle wokism, restore religious freedom, neuter Big Pharma’s grip on health, and uproot internal corruption in nearly every governmental agency, coupled with his decidely nationalist, protectionist, and “America first” approach… puts a clear stick in the spokes of the globalists and their “Build Back Better” plan. Not only has the U.S. withdrawn from the World Health Organization,[8]cf. whitehouse.gov but has announced that it “rejects and denounces” the United Nations Sustainable Development goals (SDGs).
In his remarks to the UN General Assembly, Edward Heartney, a minister-counselor at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations said that “Agenda 2030 and the SDGs advance a program of soft global governance that is inconsistent with U.S. sovereignty and adverse to the rights and interests of Americans,” adding that the new U.S. administration has “set a clear and overdue course correction on “gender” and climate ideology,” which he said “pervade the SDGs.” —March 7, 2025; esgtoday.com
In other words, Trump’s agenda may not be tolerated for much longer by globalist powerbrokers and banksters. Is this why we read next in St. John’s vision:
Therefore, her plagues will come in one day, pestilence, grief, and famine; she will be consumed by fire. For mighty is the Lord God who judges her.” The kings of the earth who had intercourse with her in their wantonness will weep and mourn over her when they see the smoke of her pyre. They will keep their distance for fear of the torment inflicted on her, and they will say: “Alas, alas, great city, Babylon, mighty city. In one hour your judgment has come.” (Revelation 18:8-10)
As the mouth of the Beast (mainstream and social media) tells us daily, we are on the verge of new pandemics;[9]eg. here, here, here, and here new wars;[10]eg. here, here, and here and new cullings of birds[11]eg. here, here, and here and cattle[12]eg. here, here, and here as hyperinflation drives up food costs. In other word, the unsealing of the Seven Seals of Revolution and the “labor pains.” America and the West — Babylon, “the symbol of the world’s great irreligious cities”[13]“Babylon …the symbol of the world’s great irreligious cities… No pleasure is ever enough, and the excess of deceiving intoxication becomes a violence that tears whole regions apart – and all this in the name of a fatal misunderstanding of freedom which actually undermines man’s freedom and ultimately destroys it.” —POPE BENEDICT XVI, On the occasion of Christmas Greetings, December 20th, 2010; http://www.vatican.va— will be utterly taken out at the knees.[14]“Even the demons are checked by good angels lest they harm as much as they would. In like manner, Antichrist will not do as much harm as he would wish.” —St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica, Part I, Q.113, Art. 4 Then, the Church will “follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection.”[15]Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 677; cf. The Passion of the Church
Many are the prophecies of Russia invading Italy,[16]eg. here, here, here and here including possibly this prophecy from Blessed Fr. Francisco Palau:
I am going to abandon Rome. I will raise from it the Pontifical throne and the city will be delivered into the power of the demons and of the revolution. Rome will no longer be the center of the religion of Jesus; it will slit the throats of its priests and religious and will once again become the enemy of Christ and His Church. The throne of the supreme Pontiff will no longer return to her, for it will be transferred to another place.. —Angel of the 20th Chapter of Revelation to Blessed Francisco; Letter to Fr Pascual de Jesús María in Rome, Vedrá (Ibiza), August 1, 1866
When people are saying, “Peace and security,” then sudden disaster comes upon them, like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3)
But those who repent, those who “choose life” (as we hear in the Mass readings this week), will be safeguarded so long as they Come out of Babylon:
Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Depart from her, my people, so as not to take part in her sins and receive a share in her plagues, for her sins are piled up to the sky…” (Revelation 18:4-5)
Thus, today’s “now word” is another call to all of us to awaken from our slumber, fill our lamps, and examine ourselves deeply this Lent — and how we may still have one foot in Babylon.
Lord Jesus, our affluence is making us less human, our entertainment has become a drug, a source of alienation, and our society’s incessant, tedious message is an invitation to die of selfishness. —POPE BENEDICT XVI, Fourth Station of the Cross, Good Friday 2006
